Local Committee for Immigrant Assistance
CM Sines > Municipality of Sines - EN > Immigrants > Local Committee for Immigrant Assistance
Sines was the first locality in the country to receive a Local Centre for Immigrant Assistance, in 2003.
Promoted by the High Commissioner for Immigration and Ethnic Minorities, the Local Centre for Immigrant Assistance shares the headquarters of the Cape Verdian Association of Sines and Santiago do Cacém, which is in charge of managing it.

Sines’ LCIA provides information on matters such as how to legalise immigration status, how to bring over the family from abroad, how to enrol one’s children in school or how to return home voluntarily. The over-the-counter information is accompanied by flyers on specific topics, the internet and an SOS Immigrant phone line, where people can get assistance in several languages.
